Academics Overview

Academics at Southwest
Florida Christian Academy

When you think about preparing your child for the future, several things come to mind:

  • Rigorous academics
  • Strong faith foundation
  • Career and calling readiness
  • Leadership and relationship skills
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and new research

Those goals — and more — are on our list at Southwest Florida Christian Academy, too. That’s why our private school in Fort Myers, FL, stretches beyond typical academic subjects and offers a more complete, eternity-minded education for your child.

We’re rooted in faith and inspired by innovation.

You’ll notice that we hold fast to the Bible and its teachings, and our students benefit from how we research and adapt to new ways to teach. We welcome technology, small groups, and individualized learning so your child can thrive, in all areas of their life, long after graduation.

SFCA students benefit from:

A PERSONALIZED EDUCATION

We meet your child where they are and take them to the next step. We offer college-prep academics and a career readiness track.

A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

Our highest calling is preparing students spiritually, so we teach a Bible class every day in PK-12. Plus, each subject is taught from a Christ-centered perspective.

SAFE ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY

Besides using technology as an engaging learning tool in the classroom, we’re also developing excellent STEM programs, creating classes in cyber security, and investing in top-notch wi-fi.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Our Student Leadership Academy helps your child identify areas of giftedness, implement goals, make a difference in society, and more.

It means so much to me to know that every part of SFCA is prayerfully focused on honoring the Lord through biblical worldview teaching and nurturing children in their relationship with Christ as they grow in God’s grace. The first K-2 chapel that I attended brought me to tears of joy as I witnessed children with raised voices and hands worshipping Jesus with all of their hearts. I truly consider it a gift to be part of this amazing school. It’s the SFCA difference.

Nurturing growth and understanding.

As your child begins to balance more responsibilities, build new friendships, and gain more academic knowledge, you want to find a school that will set the stage for their growth. Middle School

Supporting academic excellence.

Students experience a balanced approach to middle school education while fostering academic growth, personal development, and a sense of community. They learn to self-advocate for their needs and are assisted by their teachers, impact group leaders, and the middle school leadership team to develop academically, socially, and spiritually.

Program highlights:
  • In addition to the standard academic courses, students explore their giftings and interests through visual arts, performing arts (such as music, band, and theater), and practical arts (such as robotics, computer keyboarding, and entrepreneurship)
  • Students also develop their talents through the Student Leadership Academy, National Junior Honor Society, service leadership projects, athletics, and community service class trips
  • Your pre-teen will be taught time management, study, and social-emotional skills, and they will have access to the school counselor for academic and personal support throughout the changing middle school years

High School

Preparing teens who transform the world for Christ.

The four years of high school are exciting, not just because of the opportunities ahead, but because of what your teen experiences in the day-to-day at SFCA. Our high schoolers prepare for college and careers through counseling, mentoring, and rigorous academics. Plus they travel to Greece to walk where the Apostle Paul walked. They go to a camp for a week without electronics, so they can learn more about themselves and their classmates. They graduate fully prepared for the future and fully aware of how special their memories and friendships are.

Program highlights:
  • Weekly leadership meetings continue
  • High schoolers have the chance to take honors and AP classes and can earn up to 30 college credits through dual enrollment
  • Electives, like studying AI and playing in the jazz band, increase so that there’s something for everyone’s interests
  • Students improve their sports skills and develop character through our robust athletics program
