Help Your Child Learn and Grow at Southwest Florida Christian Academy
As a parent, you’re looking for a preschool with a blend of play and preparation. You don’t want to rush this time with your young one. You want them to explore and have fun with new friends — and you want them to learn how to be a good student.
How to work well with classmates.
How to recognize numbers, letters, and colors.
How to be academically and socially ready for kindergarten.
You’ll find all of that at Southwest Florida Christian Academy, a new private preschool in Fort Myers. We’ve combined all the years of experience from The Learning Cove and the McGregor Early Learning Academy to form one preschool under SFCA. Now, preschool students benefit from being part of a K-12 Christian school and can seamlessly progress to our high-quality kindergarten program.

The learning environment at SFCA
At SFCA, we recognize that your child is unique. We’ll work with you to create a supportive environment that meets your child where they are.
Inside our preschool classrooms, you will find:
Limited technology:
Our caring teachers communicate with radios and intercoms during the school day instead of cell phones, and we sometimes use TVs and CD players to teach Christian songs. For our older students, we practice test-taking on tablets, like they do in kindergarten.
Small class sizes:
We want our students to feel cared for and known. Our student-to-teacher ratio is 4:1 for infants; 6:1 for toddlers; 11:1 for our 2-year-old class; 14:1 for our 3-year-old class; and 19:1 for our 4-year-old class.
Emphasis on safety and cleanliness:
We conduct thorough background checks on all staff and volunteers, keep all exterior doors locked, and follow other modern safety precautions. We value your child’s health, so we clean and sanitize throughout the day and complete a thorough clean at the end of every day.
Developmentally appropriate curriculum:
Along with learning through play, we offer your child structured learning through the Wee Learn Curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears. Your child will also participate in Bible lessons, writing centers, and other small learning group activities designed to keep students engaged and spark collaboration while teaching numbers, colors, letters, and more.
Our preschool campus also features an indoor and outdoor play area and offers a weekly chapel service to help children of all ages grow in faith.

A Partnership With Parents
You’re searching for a school that welcomes you into your child’s education. At SFCA, we work hard to stay on the same page and communicate with parents by sharing photos and videos through the ClassDojo app and updating you about events and volunteer opportunities through a monthly parent newsletter. Our teachers also call and email to discuss your child’s progress and get your opinion on ways to best support your student.
A Place of Calm
You’ll see lots of color and exciting, interactive toys at SFCA, but you’ll also notice that our classrooms aren’t cluttered or overwhelming for your child. We’re intentional about engaging students and allowing them space — physically and emotionally. Throughout the preschool years, we practice the skills your child needs in order to grow in all areas of life, and our Christ-focused culture helps them learn to love themselves and others.

VPK Teacher with 2 children and 4 grandchildren
“My Early Childhood Education career spans 30+ years, with 15 of those serving at McGregor Baptist Church as a staff member at Southwest Florida Christian Academy preschool. I have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact our program has on young children. We are deeply committed to nurturing each child’s spiritual, emotional, and academic growth within a loving, Christ-centered environment. I personally love interacting and getting to know each student in my classroom. Every day, we integrate biblical truths into our lessons, helping our students understand God’s love for them while laying a strong foundation for their future education. My personal favorite subjects are Bible, phonics, numbers and writing. It’s a blessing to see our little ones grow not just in knowledge but in character, as they learn to love God and others. Being part of this ministry is truly a privilege, as we partner with parents to shape the hearts and minds of the next generation for Christ.”
